First batches of goodness in the red KitchenAid!

Andy inaugurated our new, red KitchenAid with a batch of his favorite cookies EVER.

 Ginger Crinkles
2 c packed brown sugar
1 1/2 c shortening
1/2 c molasses
2 eggs
4 1/2 c flour
4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. each, ginger and cinnamon
1 tsp. each, allspice and cloves
1/4 tsp. salt
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Mix all together.
Make 1 inch balls; roll in granulated sugar.
Bake at 375 for 9 minutes.
These spread while baking, to be about 2 inches in circumference.

Andy was making goodies for our neighbors for Christmas, so he made another sweet treat.

M&M Cookies
5 c flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c margarine
1 c shortening
2 c packed brown sugar
1 c granulated sugar
4 eggs
1 Tbsp. vanilla
2 c (12 oz.) M&Ms
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Mix all ingredients except for chocolate until mostly mixed together.
Add chocolate, and finish mixing to good cookie dough consistency.
Place 1 inch balls on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes.
Less time equals soft, chewy cookies.
More time equals harder, crunchier cookies with stronger flavor (don't get it to burnt flavor!).

Andy made another batch of cookies for his co-workers a day or two later.
